2 more papers to go!!!! Argh! It seems like this sem I always don't have enough time to finish my exams!
Anyway, recently there was some hype about a couple of missing children.
Not missing as in lost but in the sense of missing from primary school education.
MOE has a compulsory education act implemented and yet there are children each year who did not register for primary school. It is understandable that some parents want to home-school their children but there are some who make me wonder what are they thinking.
There was a singlehood parent who did not want to send her child to school, even though counsellors told her that she does not have to worry about the school fees etc. She was adamant about not sending her child to school at all.
Want to hear her reasoning?
She insisted that education will not be any better for her child since her older child who is a school dropout is managing well on his own. She argued that her older child managed to land himself a job even though he does not have much education and hence she does not see the need to send her younger child to school.
What absurd reasoning right?!
望子成龙,望nu成凤. I thought this saying applies to all parents?
There was one girl who only started schooling around 15 yers old because her parents did not want to send her to school too and now she is lamenting that she wished she could go to school earlier.
