Haha I think Seet looks really hilarious in this pic. I like her expression haha.
Oh! 4 gracians! Haha actually Ben invited them bcos they were his JC classmates and it was a good chance for us to catch up with one another.
Alright thats all!
Wow it has been almost 2 weeks since I last blogged!
Haha I think my blog is dying already. I am really getting very lazy to blog nowadays.
Anyway, it's the end of recess week already!! Oh man!! That's so fast!! I still have alot not done yet. Haiz.
Alright, I had a birthday party with my friends on Wednesday. I had a joint birthday party with Ben whose birthday is coming up real soon. We rented a chalet at Costa Sands Pasir Ris and the turnout was quite alright. Haha I went to recce the place on Monday already because AFTH had a main comm chalet there, same place! Haha so we were not that blur on Wednesday. I will upload the photos soon after I have the whole compilation of it. After our party, those who stayed over went for a late-night movie at Downtown East. We watched Mamma Mia! It was good. Haha funny at times and I love the songs. Haha after I came back home I asked my Dad for the ABBA cd lah. The songs are really catchy!
Alright, I am going to stop blogging here. Going to catch the F1 race...on TV. Look out for my next post with all the photos. Soon, I promise.
Wow! I am 21 already! Haha that's fast!
Hm, actually it's nothing much, just that I am older already. Being 21 doesn't mean I don't have to rush for my assignments anymore. Being 21 doesn't mean that I have gained enlightenment too. Not much of a difference I would say.
But still, I went out to celebrate with my parents. They brought me out for dinner and we shopped around. I am glad that I have parents who dote on me alot and also a bunch of close friends. About a few weeks back, I heard from a friend that none of her close friends bothered to meet up with her to celebrate her birthday. I was quite shocked at that. She told me how some of her close friends did not even wished her happy birthday. They only gave her presents separately quite some time after her birthday. She told me how she would plan outings to celebrate her friends' birthdays but none of them did it for her. Although she did not say that she was disappointed or what, I could clearly sense the disappointment in her voice. I think it can be quite sad and disappointing when that happens. I am glad that I have friends who wished me happy birthday and also bothered to ask me out for dinner to celebrate. Thanks friends!
Oh ya, that day the newspaper did a special report on North Korea and that makes me curious about the country. It is one of the few remaining communist countries in the world and its really reclusive. I wonder whether are their people curious about the outside world or not. What is their impression of the outside world? I think there are some North Koreans who do get out of their country for maybe a short trip such as for taking part in sporting events. In that case, after they have seen the outside world, what is their opinion of their own country after they returned back? Would they exclaim to their family and friends how the outside world has modern technology (such as handphones since the authorities do not even allow tourists in their country to carry handphones with them) and different social norms from them? How much do they know about the world?
Oh man! It's week 6 already!! Haiz...
Anyway, on Saturday, I had an early birthday celebration with my family. Sorry Esther for not being able to turn up for your birthday party. Ya, my birthday is not here yet but me and my cousin decided to celebrate it earlier because of our different schedules. Haha my cousin is only 3 days younger than me. We used to celebrate our birthdays together when we were young. But as we grew up, we stopped having birthday parties. Now, as we are turning 21, we decided to have a birthday celebration together once again.
We invited all our uncles, aunties, cousins and not to forget our beloved grandmother. We had a BBQ at one of my uncle's condo. Hm, I think that BBQ can be quite disappointing sometimes. Haha one of my cousins took close to an hour to start the fire. In the end, we started barbequing quite late and we were quite slow in barbequing the food. So, I think many of them did not eat much. Haha while I was barbequing with my cousins, we thought of going for a supper later on as we were so busy barbequing that we did not eat at all. The very moment we put the cooked food on the tray, it was gone. But in the end, we had alot of leftovers and my uncle gladly barbequed for us to eat.
Here are a couple of photos taken that day...
Our birthday cake! Its banana chocolate cake.
My cousin and I cutting the cake.
Isn't he cute? He's my cousin's son.
Alright, everyone mug hard!
It's the month of September already!! That's super fast!!
Ya, besides fretting about getting old, I am also worrying about birthday party. Although I have been thinking about having a birthday party for quite some time, it's all thoughts and no action done. But with the limited time that is left, I have to really get down with the planning already. Haiz, sian. Although there is not alot of things to do, but I just hate the planning. I will be having 2 parties, one with family and another with friends. Luckily the one with family has been settled by my cousin. Haha she's super efficient. She arranged the venue, BBQ food, cake and also helped to inform some of our relatives. I only have to help her inform some other relatives. That's good. Haha I don't have to think much about that. But the one that I am having with my friends, everything is not settled yet. Haiz, because my mum could not get her company's chalet and hence, we have to look for alternatives. Hopefully, everything will go on smoothly.
Happy Teachers' Day to all teachers!!!!!!
Today is the first day of school holidays and surprisingly many students are taking this chance to study. I went to the library this morning planning to study there but it turned out that the library was packed. And I was there early lor...10.05am. Just 5 minutes after the library opened and the tables were fully occupied already. Quite unbelievable right?! In the end, I decided to borrow a book and head back home to study. Haiz, regretted my decision. I should have taken Ben's suggestion and head to other places to study. I was quite slack at home.
Oh ya! Recently after I was hooked on the book The Last Empress of China, I started to have a renewed interest in reading. Haha I have stopped reading books for quite some time and this book has made me addicted to reading on the train ride to school. Haha I have finished reading the book and hence I went to borrow another book to read. The Last Empress of China is really an interesting and intriguing novel. It makes you re-think about the perceptions of Ci Xi Tai Hou. It is widely acclaimed that she was an evil empress and how she manupulated her sons to be puppet emperors. But after reading the book, I could not help but wonder whether is it the truth. Was there any political reason behind this portrayal? Hm...
Anyway, on Saturday I went to Esther's church with Denise and Wei Ching for some board games. Although we were there for a relatively short time, we enjoyed ourselves. We played games such as "I'm the boss" and "Mr X". Haha I like the first game. It can be quite choatic.
After that, I met up with Seet Ee and her sis to join a group for walking at the Southern Ridges. We got to know a member of this group through our working stint last year. It was a great walk. Haha before I embarked on the walk, I sort of regretted about agreeing to go for the walk with Seet. But in the end, I was glad that I went. Although it was raining and we were drenched, we had a fun time doing the walk. Haha me and Seet were quite noisy at times, disrupting the peace there. The walk took about 2 hours and it really doesn't feel that long. But still, we were all tired after the walk.
Here are some photos that we took...
