On thursady, I went for the WSC overseas trip interview. We heard that there is intense competition because they are only taking 15 people. On thursday only, which is the first day of interview, we were told that around 50 people had went for the interview. Surprising right. I thought many would not be interested and moreover only WSC people could go. Now, I am having second thoughts on whether to go. We were told that we have to participate in canvassing events prior to the trip actively. It seems like they have a packed schedule for the canvassing. Haiz don't think I can commit so much time. Now, I already have 4days in a week fully occupied by classes and tuitions. If only we can just be involved in the trip itself.

Today we endured 5 hours straight lectures. During one of the lectures, a China lecturer took over from our prof for an hour. During that hour, alot ppl were quite disrespectful. I think he was very nervous, fidgeting around and kept clearing his throat. Plus his China accent, we hardly hear him and alot started talking. Some even mimicked him clearing the throat lor. It was really embarrassing for him I think. Suddenly I felt that he very ke lian, though we really dun understand what he was saying. I think he put in the effort already.

Last Sat, me n agnes went for a movie, Apolcalpyto, before meeting the rest for Andy's treat. It was super gross but very meaningful. The scences are still etched in my mind, especially the heart-digging and head rolling scenes. However, it was meaningful as in tells you how ugly can ppl be and how culture n beliefs can ruin another tribe. I think its abit of soci. Don't know is it I think too much already haha. Ya, still haven catch Blood Diamond also. I think it will be even more interesting. Hm, must catch it this week or wait for dvd le.

Haiz, thinking whether to join a WSC volunteer trip to Manila this July. I am interested actually. Go there experience different cultures and do something meaningful. Build homes and teach children, I think it will be unforgettable.

Last wednesday, me and agnes went to Sentosa for my mystery shopper job (thx agnes for going with me hehe). Haha this is the first time I'm doing this kind of job so quite blur and excited. But it was quite fun but tiring. Actually the job is easy, you have to just observe the staffs and the environment and asks them some questions to test their customer service level. However, its tiring cause this is at Sentosa where we had to walk around under the blazing sun. But we finished the job very quickly haha. Oh ya, we saw quite alot of Jap students as well and I think their complexions are really good (save for some exceptions). Haha on the bus, 2 Jap guy students sat in front of us and they took out a small mirror and started checking their looks. I was quite amused at first because in Sg, we don't really see many guys carrying a small mirror with them mah.

After that we went to North point for a while before I made my way to tuition. And guess what. I think Ms Ong is really Cao Cao. Haha we were saying that so long never seee Ms Ong they all already and ta-dah, Ms Ong appeared. Haha.

Haiz...these few days really very tired. Every day I sleep quite late and have to wake up early. Quite happy today because finally after one whole week, I am able to come back home early today. Came back at around 1pm and watched tv. So long never had this kind of life already whereby I can watch hours of tv.

Today is already week 2 of the 2nd sem but I am still lagging behind in my readings. I want to start things afresh and complete the readings on time, but it seems that its not as easy as I thought. Up to today, I already have a stack of readings waiting for me, and its piling up by the day. When can I have the motivation to read everything? I think I am still having the slacker attitude. Wake up!

Today went over to NIE for the first time. Ya another "first time" and it comes late I know. But I really must say the place is soooooo much nicer than NTU. For one, the place is so much greener and brighter than NTU. But the queues at the canteen are also very long. Today I was quite pissed off by one guy. Did not talk to him much before, and today I regretted talking to him. He is super sarcastic. Almost every sentence from his mouth is sour. Hope we won't be in the same tutorial class.

Just came back from a movie with agnes, denise, andy and qb. We finally watched Deathnote 2. Its really entertaining. I think its nicer than part 1. Before meeting them for the movie, I went for my WSC. Today we had a talk on how to communicate with the elders. It was quite dry lah, but luckily it was short. We watched a video as well. I think the video really hits me because the elder showcased was having difficulty speaking and his family members could not communicate with him well. I can really sense his frustration. Wonder when I am old, will I face the same frustration. Hope not.

This week passed very quickly. Actually we do not have tutorials this week so should be quite free. However, I was so busy that I didn't go online for 3 days. Duno what I was busy with also. This sem most of our lectures are in north-spine and poor us have to rush around looking for the lect theatre. I really think that I miss south-spine. At least at south-spine, its easy to find the LTs as they are all on the same level, unlike those in north-sine where the LTs are playing hide-and-seek with you. Wonder how those engineers find their way everyday.

On wednesday, agnes, denise and I went to bugis. They did their pedicure while I sat beside them. We saw one Jap lady there for pedi as well. She looks really young and fashionable. Guess what, she's 37. Our jaws practically dropped when we heard that. Wonder how those Japs bao yang. After that we went to bras basah to sell our textbooks and I bought a soci dictionary as well. Then, we walked all the way to PS planning to catch Blood Diamond, but we were late. Haha shall try to catch it again next week.

Oh ya, thursday me and denise went to the school library wanting to print our notes. However, as first-timers, we did not know how to do it and decided to wait for our friends to teach us. Haha quite embarrassing that after 1 sem we still do not know how to print notes in school. But we have an excuse hor, we are still freshies. Haha.

Yesterday I did something that I was quite happy. Haha sounds abit lame. We were at the Popular store in our sch looking for our textbooks. Then, I saw some students browsing through a textbook that we had. I was very very tempted to approach them to sell them ours, but afterall we are strangers and my skin not so thick lor. So...me and denise were there discussing whether to approach. But I cant hold back the tempting idea. I approached the girl and asked whether they want 2nd-hand books. Surprisingly, they agreed very quickly and ta-dah me and denise became 20 bucks richer. Haha.

Last night, my uncle treated my family to porridge dinner buffet at an ulu hotel. Although I din hear the hotel name b4, the place is quite nice. The buffet was quite cheap also, $10++ and quite alot of dishes. We made our own ice kachang. Haha I made one for my grandma also and she was like a small kid, choosing her toppings and syrups. She ate so much ice kacang that she had abit stomachache, then she decided to eat green bean soup to warm her stomach. Haha.

Okie...thats all...a very long post again. Haha think I am having the habit of writing long posts.

Ah so fast...5 weeks holiday is goin to be over in abt an hour's time. Actually I not looking forward to the next semester. Maybe the most interesting module is Culture but I dread another module that is about presentations. Argh...I hate presentations. Tomorrow start must work hard already, cannot like last sem so slack le. I think everyone after getting back results really have this thought in their mind.
Strive hard everyone!

Oh ya...these few days I really quite sway oso (haha...agnes not oni u sway lor). Firstly, my phone gave me probs again. Netx...is the worst nightmare that can happen to me. My SCV box spoilt! Duno why also. I was watching tv when it suddenly no electricity. I had no tv to watch for 2 days lor. So sian. Tmr I still must bring it for repair.

Yesterday went for BBQ at pasir ris park with my CCA. It was our first outing. Pathetic right, so long le den have outing. When we reached there, we found out that the pit that we had booked was demolished already! Luckily they allow us to use another pit. But...the lamp post was down and we had to BBQ all night with a guy holding a torchlight. Haha. We played some games before the actual BBQ. We had to draw lots and pair up with a guy. And I got our president. We had to figure out who is our partner while blindfolded. Actually I cant really tell but luckily got some hints from Pekky and another friend haha. If not we had to do forfeit and I think his gf will get mad.
We ate alot...we had stingray, chicken wings, sotong, marshmellow and even mushrooms! Mushrooms taste weird when BBQ. Oh we saw double rainbows! It was really spectacular. I had a pic of it but not very clear. We saw many stars that night too and my senior say there is a constellation. I cant rmb the name, she was in astro club b4. Oh ya, and the seniors were saying that May next year we have an overseas trip. They were thinking of going Malaysia to see fireflies. Should be quite cool. I didn't see fireflies b4.

Okie..try to post pic next time...my senior haven upload them.

Super long post.

Its the 3rd day of 2007 but I still can't figure out what are my wishes for the new year. Every start of the year, I come up with a list of resolutions for the year. This year, I decided not to do so as I always fail to accomplish them anyway. Every year, its has been more or less the same list, just that I give it a new coat of ink each time. Get good results, build up stamina, shed some weight, be true to myself and others, make my parents happy, do some things that I can be proud of. Its always the same few things but I never manage to tick them off the list every year end. I guess things are not always how you wanted them to be.
However, 2006 was still a memorable year. I had dedicated many of my first times to 2006. First time seeking so hard for a job, first time having a taste of office politics, first time entering university, first time being so worried about my future, first time realising how important are my friends, first time being so troubled...first time blogging. Isn't that a handful. Frankly speaking, I don't really like first times because I do not like changes to my life. But I know changes are inevitable. I can only try to learn how to adapt quickly to changes. I'm still learning.
Hope that 2007 will be better. Hope that I can shed my skin and become a fresh person. Pray that everyone around me stay healthy and happy. Pray that my family stays close and my friendships become stronger. It will be a bonus if Mr Right appears.
